Mom and Grandma come to Visit.

At the end of March my mom and grandma both flew down to visit with us. It was so nice being able to see both my mom and my grandma. Even though I had just seen my mom the beginning of February it was still good to see her and I had not seen my grandma since September besides on Skype during Christmas.

While they were here we had to try to get things figured out what to do while they were here. So we had two big plans. Other then those plans we just went with the flow.

We went to a Spring Training game one of the nights. It was a nice experience to watch a baseball game. Harper enjoyed it. It was almost all of our first time at a Spring Training game. Even though it was not like going to an actual baseball game it was still a wonderful experience.

The other big thing we had planned was we went to the zoo. My grandma had never  been to a zoo so i thought that it was a good idea. We went also with one of my friends from Arizona and her kids. It was fun. Got to see a lot of animals. I love being able to go to the zoo and seeing them all. Only wish they had an elephant. Mine and Harper's favorite part of the zoo is being able to feed the Giraffes. We packed lunches so my grandma could eat when she needed to. So before we left it was time to eat our lunches. Before we completely left the zoo we went and looked at the gift shop.

Another day we went to Sam's Club where my husband works and got my mom and sister a new phone. Plus my husband got me a new purse. From there we went to the Mall. Which is almost right next door. We went to lunch there ate at Johnny Rocket. Then we walked the mall and headed back to the apartment.

Harper also got to bring her grandma and great grandma to the park in our apartment complex which is right basically outside our door. She loved being able to play over there with her Nama. She got to bring her bike from Christmas over to the park and show them how to ride it. Even though she couldn't reach the peddles.

By the time the visit was over I was not ready for them to leave. But the visit was really nice. It was fun having my family here. I miss them all so much. It sucks sometimes living so far away.

Old Hat New Hat

So February was a very packed month with activities. The next big thing that we had happen in was Jessica's baby shower. Keri, Natalie, and I threw her a baby shower. It was a lot of work to get everything done. All the main decorations were made by hand. I drew and painted 2 big backdrops.

These are the backdrops that i did for the baby shower. They were so time consuming. But worth it in the end.

There were a lot of the hats that are in the Old Hat New Hat book that we made. They all looked just like the ones that were in the book. My sister in law had no idea what the theme was. We surprised her. She was not allowed to go upstairs at all if she came over to my mother in laws house. It was sad in some parts of her not being able to come over unannounced. It was quite lonely without her there. But so worth it. Not as many people came that we had thought were going to but it was still a good turn out. She got a lot of gifts for  McKenna.

My birthday

Not to much exciting for my birthday. Everyone thinks thought that you need to go out and party for your 21st birthday to have a good night. But in reality you don't. Its just as fun being sober and being able to remember your night. We went out to dinner with my husbands whole family. It was a nice night. We had a great dinner of course at my favorite Mexican restaurant. It was oh so yummy. Then of course they sang happy birthday to me and embarrassed me. But it was nice to have Scott, Keri, Jaxin, Stockton, Jessica, Brian, Maci, Kernan, the other grandparents (Keri's parents), Kolby, Harper, and me. So we had a big group of people to celebrate with.

Wicked

I didn't get any pictures which was a bummer but we couldn't take pictures. But we went to watch Wicked the day before my birthday. It was a very fun experience. I would love to do it again. It was so fun to watch and see how many people they had in the play and how well they all did in their parts. I would so recommend going and watching it. It is so worth it.

It was a girls night out minus Harper. Her and daddy had a day to themselves. Everyone that went included Keri and her mom, Jaxin, Jessica, Maci, and me. You could say McKenna was there because Jessica was still pregnant with her.

Our 1st Anniversary

This post is going to be a short one. But our first anniversary was on February 4th. Its hard to believe that we have been married for a year. I am so blessed to have met and married such an amazing man. For our anniversary dinner we went out to dinner. It was nice to be able to go out and celebrate out marriage. We went to a mexican restaurant that is hands down my favorite as of right not. Haven't found one better that I like. We had the rest of the family come with us. Then we saw some friends there and they also joined us for dinner. It was a good night.

Harper Turns 2

Harper's birthday finally came. My husband surprised me and flew my mom down for Harper's birthday. I was so happy that she could be there to celebrate. To bad my dad did not come down. I felt horrible that my dad didn't come. The part i felt even more bad about was that my mom flew out on my dads birthday. That's the only bad part about Harper's birthday being born the day after my dads birthday.

So for Harper's party we were doing a rainbow theme. It was fun. I made the cake for her.It was time consuming. But so worth it. Only had one piece left at the end,

My mother in law decorated for Harper's party. I wasn't allowed to help. So we took my mom to the mall and let her experience the Disney store.

I loved how my mother in law decorated for her party. Some of it I knew what she doing and some of it I had no clue. All the decorations tied into the rainbow theme.

Singing Happy Birthday to Harper. She would not blow out her candles though. I was kinda bummed. She does not like being in the spotlight like that. She didn't want to eat the cake either. She only wanted the ice cream.

Then we had to move to presents quicker then I was wanting to. Harper and her friend Kendal got into the presents and opened the one that I was gonna leave for last.

Harper had a really great birthday this year. I am glad we got to spend it with a group of wonderful people.

Harper's Birthday photo shoot

Harper's birthday was coming up. So we thought to do a photo shoot. It was fun. A nice experience. I got to take the majority of the pictures. Which was amazing that I was able to do that. We went to the same place out picture were took for our sealing.

Here are some of my favorites.

We should of started the photo shoot a little earlier so that we could of got more photos with better lighting I think. But they turned out so good. I love all her facial expressions. She knows exactly what to do when it comes to getting her pictures took. She loves it.

We were able to get some pictures of all of us. I just love how she loves getting her pictures took and how she is always happy in her pictures.

Toy Story 3 on ice

This year Harper got to experience watching Disney on Ice. They put on Toy Story 3. Harper loved it. It sure kept her attention. She was so entertained.

She watched the whole thing. Loved it. It was fun going there. With everyone. I hadn't been to that kind of performance since I was in Girl Scouts. When we went and watched The Lion King.

Harper loved it and she got to see her favorite characters. She loves Minnie, Mickey, and Goofy. They came out and did a little performance during a break. It was fun and I would love to go watch more.

Christmas 2011

This years Christmas was pretty nice. Unlike last year I got to spend it with Harper and not having to work. She sure enjoyed waking up and opening her presents. She was how you say a little spoiled this year for Christmas.

Harper and her Christmas outfit

Rocking her new shorts while getting another gift to open

Harper got so many gifts this year. We opened all the presents from us and my family at our apartment and then we went and opened more at my in-laws house that night. Harper got a lot of baby dolls for Christmas along with a baby bed for her dolls. Kolby and I put it together for her on Christmas eve and got all of her gifts around it before we went to bed.

Christmas morning when we all came downstairs Harper was not to sure what to think. She didn't just run right to the gifts. But she is only 2 so i can see why. I am looking forward to opening gifts next year with Harper just like this year. Hopefully she will be more into opening the gifts up and running to them like most kids on Christmas morning.

Only thing missing this year for Christmas was my family. That is one thing that I am not used to at all. Not having my family around for holidays is hard. I know I am going to have to get used to not having them around for holidays but it is not that easy so far.

Thanksgiving 2011

This year was a little different from previous years for Thanksgiving. Well besides last year I also celebrated in Arizona. But previous years I would be with my family in Montana at my grandparents house. I miss them all so much especially around holidays.

This year for Thanksgiving was not bad though. There was not a lot of people. And the house was not over crowded. Which was nice. We had a nice dinner. Everyone came over and to my in-laws house. We all enjoyed eating outside and not having to worry about snow like I would of had to in Montana.

Our trip to Tombstone

The day that we left Tuscon we didn't come straight home. We went to Tombstone. It was so neat going up there. The first place we went when we got up there was a reptile place. My brother in law loves lizards. So they had to show us what the place had.

After we left the reptile place we went and walked around and looked at a lot of the old buildings. Got to see lots of people wearing old time clothing which was pretty cool to see.
After we were done looking around we went and ate lunch before we headed home. Once we left it felt like forever before we got home. It was dark and late when we got back. It was a bunch of fun though.

University of Utah football game

In November we went to Tuscon to watch the University of Utah play against University of Arizona. We went up there for Scott's birthday. We went and stayed at a resort in Tuscon. It was a nice resort. We got there pretty late that night. The resort had wild pigs on their grounds. It was so cool to see them. Once we had finally got to the room i was more then ready to get out of the car and unload the car. It was nice to get out and stretch and relax finally.

The next morning we got up and realized that we did not have any food what so ever for breakfast. Needless to say my husband and his older sister went into Tuscon to get us some breakfast. They went and got some really good muffins from Costco. Once they got back everyone was ready and dressed for the day. The two other men were still golfing so we ate and waited on them.

Before we left the resort we got pictures of the kids in their outfits for the game. Harper of course loved getting her pictures took.

Once they got there we all got ready to go to the mall. Once we were at the mall we just mainly went to waist time before the game started. So we just walked around and looked at what stores were there.

Finally when we were at the game we got our seats. We were right behind the one of the end zones. So it was not too bad of seating.

The game was very good. We all enjoyed it. Even Harper loved the game. Her favorite sport to watch is football now.
